My Story.
During the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, I took advantage of my then company's well-being resources to immerse myself in mental health and neurodiversity training. I became a mental health first aider, trained in suicide awareness and prevention, and learned about disability awareness, neurodiversity, and inclusivity. This training proved invaluable when my boss was diagnosed with ADHD, allowing me to support him effectively.
In 2021, I relocated to Wales and reconsidered my career. Drawing on 25+ years of experience in administration and management, along with my new training, I started my own business as a Specialist Neurodiversity VA. This journey has been challenging yet rewarding, fuelling my passion for supporting neurodiverse individuals and advocating for mental health awareness.
In my personal life, I love nothing more than spending time with my husband Frank and my two children. My son William, 28, lives in Scotland on the shores of Loch Fyne, running his own business as a chef, very successfully, I might add. My daughter Isla, 17, is studying Health & Social at college with a view to going on to do a nursing degree in 2026. To say I am proud of them both is an understatement.
Frank and I love to travel as often as we can! When we are home, we enjoy nothing more than stomping around the Brecon Beacons where we live. I also absolutely love my garden, being out there planting and growing flowers, fruit and veg really helps me relax which is great for my mental health.
